Del Monte 100% Pineapple Juice

Sometimes I wonder why I write more and talk less, and most of the time I associate this idea to the million facts about Kris Aquino—99% of them she herself declared.

Probably, this is the reason why speakers and writers are two distinct people with distinctly ways of expressing their selves. They are like men and women, meat and vegetables, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and God. They are differently unique, but common in some sense, and one does not exist without the other. Imagine, what if one day all women disappear, would you know you’re a man, “o baka naman ngayon palang hindi mo na alam kung lalaki ka?

I think that is the reason why we all exist—see, this is not only about speakers and writers—we need everyone to see the other side of whatever it is, we need a mirror of someone else to realize the reality we have today, the past we have before and the future we wish to have. And no matter how awful they may be, we need to accept that they are part of our existence and how we see them—may it be a he, she or it—that one thing define our outlook in life. As for me, Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is a dreadful experience, and no one can take that from me, so as your own outlook about her. But no matter what it is, the important thing is you find the guts to stand by it despite the numerous contradictions revolving around it.

As for me I still don’t know why I write more and talk less, but the beauty about it is the opportunity to listen, and that I believe is the most wonderful part of conversation—it is somehow the climax and orgasm of communication. Who cares if I can’t talk more and the title of this essay is 100% pineapple juice, does it kill you?
